Family Law Act

- The law relating to marriage, divorce, separation and the procedure thereto is laid down in the Marriage Registration Ordinance No.19 of 1907 and in the Civil Procedure Code. The need to amend the provisions of the Ordinance to suit to the present has been identified. Accordingly, the Cabinet approved the proposal made by the Minister of justice to study the legal situation prevailing in other countries on family law by an of experts committee and take necessary action to draft a detailed Family Law bill covering all areas such as divorce, nullity, separation, alimony, custody of children and division of property.
