Marketing Pure Ceylon Tea through Online or Offline Platform in China
- A proposal is made to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Sri Lanka Tea Board (SLTB) and Fujian Starchina International Trade Company Limited, Fujian Province, China, a subsidiary of Benny Tea Industry Company Ltd which is mainly engaged in tea imports, exports, e-business in clearing operations for marketing Pure Ceylon Tea through Online or Offline Platform in China. In terms of the said MoU, the said company has extended its willingness to set up a 5 G Online marketing platform which assists for warehousing and delivery network of China for online promotion and marketing of Ceylon Tea Brand name, in addition to the normal delivery of Ceylon Tea to China. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Plantation to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Sri Lanka Tea Board (SLTB) and Starchina International Trade Company Limited for marketing Pure Ceylon Tea through Online or Offline Platform in China, taking the advantage of potential opportunities for Ceylon Tea within the China tea market, was approved by the Cabinet.
