Key Foreign Policy Directives for 2020 and beyond

- Considering the National Policy Frame Work “Vistas of Prosperity and Splendor” and its Sectoral Policies and the activities under Sri Lanka Foreign Policy, the Foreign Ministry and the Presidential Secretariat have jointly formulated key foreign policy directives consisted with 20 points to be followed in the year 2020 and beyond. This document which enshrines the Foreign Policy vision of the Government will amalgamate the National Security and Economic development with the foreign policy and will guide to play the role within the international arena as a sovereign Nation. Accordingly, the Cabinet considered the information furnished by the Foreign Minister that the aforesaid Key Foreign Policy Directives to be used as the guiding Policy Document for the Foreign Ministry, the State Ministry of Regional Co‑operation and the Sri Lanka Missions Abroad.
