Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of a Political Consultation Mechanism between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan

- It has been proposed to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Foreign Ministry of Sri Lanka and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to establish a consultation mechanism with a view to improving the bilateral affairs and cooperation, covering political, security, economic, cultural, education, health, social, people-to-people relations, human resources development and other areas of common interest. As such, the proposal made by the Foreign Minister to enter into the said agreement between the Foreign Ministry of Sri Lanka and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, was approved by the Cabinet.
