Submission of the Gem and Jewellery (License Fee) Regulations No.1 of 2020 for approval in Parliament

- Each regulation made by the Minister in charge as per the provisions of Section 53 of the National Gem and Jewellery Authority Act No. 50 of 1993, should be published in the Government Gazette and thereafter present the same in Parliament for approval. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Industries to present the “Gem and Jewellery (License Fee) Regulations No.1 of 2020” published by the Gazette Notification 2020‑03‑01 by the Minister in charge of the subject for the purpose of formalizing the fees charged for the services provided by the said Authority, in Parliament, was approved by the Cabinet.
