Application of Land Acquisition (Compensation) Regulations 2013 for the Road Projects of Ruwanpura Expressway Project and the Port City Elevated Expressway Project

- Measures have been taken to compensate for the lands acquired for 18 projects implemented under the Ministry of Highways, in terms of the provisions of the “Land Acquisition (Compensation) Regulations 2013” published under the Extraordinary Gazette Notification No.1864/54. Under those provisions, the affected parties may possible to presence themselves to the Land Acquisition and Resettlement Committee and obtain concessions in addition to the statutory compensation. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Highways to make apply the Land Acquisition (Compensation) Regulations 2013 also for the Road Projects of Ruwanpura Expressway Project and the Port City Elevated Expressway Project, was approved by the Cabinet.
