Establishment of a Sri Lanka Consulate General Office in Antananarivo, Madagascar

- The diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Madagascar have been initiated in the year 2001 and Sri Lanka High Commission in Victoria, Seashells is concurrently accredited to Madagascar. Considering the enormous economic opportunities available for Sri Lanka as well as the requirements of migrant Sri Lankans and businessmen residing in Madagascar, it seems appropriate to set up a Consulate General Office in Madagascar. Accordingly, the Cabinet approved the proposal made by the Foreign Minister for opening a Sri Lanka Consulate General Office in Madagascar.
