Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2020-12-14

Making a Free Grant for the land where the Faculty of Graduate Studies of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University has been located

- The Faculty of Graduate Studies of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University has been established in a plot of land in extent of 01 rood and 37.2 perches. The said land plot has been taken over by the Government in terms of the interim provision 38(A) of the Land Acquisition Act. Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E the President in his capacity as the Minister of Defence to vest the said plot of land with General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University as a free grant under the Section 6(1) of the State Lands Ordinance, was approved by the Cabinet.
