Implementation of the Yakkala, Werellawatta Middle Income Housing Project

- The Urban Development Authority has planned to implement a middle income housing project with 500 houses in the Werellawatta area in Yakkala under 03 phases. Preliminary work is prepared to construct 154 houses under its first phase as a 12-storey building comprising of 132 houses of 600 square feet and 22 houses of 900 square feet. The total estimated cost of the project is Rs.1503.30 million and the cost of construction is expected to be secured through pre-sales. Accordingly the proposal made by the Hon. Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of Urban Development & Housing for the implementation of the proposed project, was approved by the Cabinet.
