Construction of a Building for the proposed Army Base Hospital at Pallekale

- A new base hospital is designed to be constructed at Pallekele, Kandy to provide basic medical treatment to army personnel serving and residing in Kandy and surrounding districts. For the purpose, it is expected to construct a 3 storey building and the estimated cost is Rs.376.22 million. Accordingly the proposal made by H.E the President in his capacity as the Minister of Defence to complete the construction of the proposed hospital within a year using the labour of other ranks of the Sri Lanka Army Professionals and to secure provisions required for the purpose from the General Treasury, was approved by the Cabinet.
