Providing production relief for six (06) selected crops under the Saubhagya Food Production National Program

- Cabinet approval has been granted to provide guaranteed price for 16 crops and to provide seeds with the intervention of the Government with a view to encouraging local farmers. It seems appropriate to provide government assistance to farmers for obtaining seeds to meet the annual consumption requirement of Maize, Chillie, Big Onion, Red Onion, Potato and Black Gram locally, which are currently restricted to import. Accordingly, taking into consideration the proposal made by the Minister of Agriculture, the Cabinet granted approvalto provide a 50% subsidy for the cost incurred on obtaining seeds up to one (1) acre of Maize and up to 1/2 acre of Chilli, Big Onion, Red Onion, Potato and Black Gram for the Maha season 2020/2021.
