Providing relief to tea smallholders for the affected tea plantations due to excessive heat and drought condition

- Approval of the Cabinet has been granted at its meeting held on 2020‑06‑03 to implement a program to provide tea plants to tea smallholders free of charge to restore tea plantations damaged due to excessive heat and and drought condition. Accordingly, the Cabinet considered the information submitted by the Minister of Plantation that 3.5 million tea plants worth Rs. 105 million had been distributed by the Tea Smallholdings Development Authority and another 2.5 million tea plants worth Rs. 75 million are planned to be distributed within this year.
