Construction of a Paediatric Surgical Ward at the Teaching Hospital, Ratnapura

- Teaching Hospital, Ratnapura is the largest tertiary care hospital in the Sabaragamuwa province thus providing services to a large number of patients from other provinces as well. Adhering to the need of a surgical ward with proper facilities for the pediatric ward complex consisted of 116 beds, it has been planned to construct a paediatric surgical ward in the second storey of the relevant paediatric ward building. Therefore, the proposal made by the Minister of Health for the construction of the proposed paediatric surgical ward with the funding of the donors and to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Health and the relevant donors for the said purpose, was approved by the Cabinet.
