Providing locally manufactured sarees as uniforms for Dhamma School teachers

- Granting of uniforms to the Dhamma School teachers serving in the Buddhist Dhamma Schools throughout the island is being implemented since the year 2004 and accordingly, 76,000 sarees are required for the year 2020 to be awarded as uniforms to Buddhist Dhamma School teachers . Accordingly, the proposal made by the Hon. Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs to purchase 76000 sarees made by local textile manufacturers at Rs. 2,400/- per each, to a sum of Rs. 182.4 million from Lanka Salusala Limited, was approved by the Cabinet.
