Proposed dedicated zone for textile manufacturing and related industries at Punnaikudah of Eravur-Pattu Divisional Secretariat Division in Batticaloa District

- The establishment of an apparel industrial Zone in Eravur by the Board of Investment in collaboration with the Land Reforms Commission has been identified as a significant priority project of the Ministry of Industries. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Industries to declare the apparel industrial zone proposed to be established at Punnaikudah of Eravur-Pattu Divisional Secretariat Division in Batticaloa District as a strategic Development Project as a 'Dedicated Zone for Textile Manufacturing and Related Industries', to vest 275 acres of land identified for the purpose and belonging to the Land Reforms Commission with the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, to secure provisions required for the said project and to provide investment incentives for the investors those who are investing in that industrial zone, was approved by the Cabinet.
