Modernizing the process of conducting Examinations in the Department of Examinations of Sri Lanka

- The Department of Examinations of Sri Lanka conducts mainly 4 National Examinations related to school education and about 325 Institutional Examinations annually. The departmental staff carries out most of the work related to conducting those examinations following the usual office procedures and the necessity of digitalizing the examination process has been identified to maintain the accuracy and reliability of the examinations. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Education to purchase new technical equipment including internet facilities required to modernize the examination management process of the Department of Examinations, to train the respective staff to utilize the said devices and to establish Examination Evaluation Centres at provincial level to facilitate the exam evaluation process, was approved by the cabinet.
