-Considering the demand for higher education existing at present, it is essential to improve the infrastructure facilities of the State Universities in order to implement the Government's policy on expanding opportunities for more students to enter into State Universities. Taking into consideration, a proposal made by the Minister of Education, the Cabinet approved to vest a plot of 02 acres from the land located at Kalugalpitiya, Badulla, which is under the purview of the Badulla District Secretary, enabling the Uva Wellassa University to commence degree courses further required in the most appropriate field in addition to the degree courses presently available in the University.
