-Government has spent approximately Rs. 1,200 million for the construction of the Vidyalankara International Buddhist Conference Hall and the Cabinet, having considered the magnitude of the investment and enabling to properly maintain the high efficiency technical equipment installed in the said Conference hall, granted approval to appoint a Board of Trustees on 2019‑11‑11. Accordingly, the clearance of the Attorney General has been received in respect of the Deed of Trust prepared in this regard and the Hon. Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs informed the Cabinet that the Secretary to the Ministry in charge of the subject of Buddhasasana is to sign on behalf of the Government as the First Party of the said Deed of Trust and the Cabinet has given their consent to that.
