-The Cabinet at its meeting held on 2020‑09‑28 has decided to purchase the required school uniform materials for the year 2021 from the local textile manufacturers and to expedite the procurement process already commenced accordingly.

As such, the proposal made by the Minister of Education to award the contract for manufacturing sorting, packing and distribution of the school uniform materials to the Divisional Education Offices in accordance with the relevant specifications as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee to institutes; Vanguard Industries (Pvt) Company, Dankotuwa Weaving Mills, Prabha Tex Industries and Creative Textile Mills (Pvt) Company, was approved by the Cabinet.
