Repair and use or Disposal of the vehicles of the Government Institutions which are not in running condition

- It has been observed that a considerable number of vehicles which are not using at present due to lack of proper maintenance are available in the Government institutions whereas 4,116 vehicles have been identified for repair and use while the number of vehicles that can be discarded amounts to 5,588 as at 31st August 2020. Accordingly, the proposal submitted by the Minister of Finance for allocation of provisions by the Department of National Budget at the occasions in which the relevant institutions are deprived of allocations to repair the vehicles for economical use, for transferring the vehicles so repaired through the Comptroller General’s office under the Ministry of Finance to the Government Institutions lack sufficient number of vehicles in the formal manner as well as to dispose the irreparable vehicles following the proper methodology, was approved by the Cabinet.
