Construction of Flyovers over the Railway Line at Uttharananda Mawatha near the Slave Island Railway Station

- A huge traffic congestion has been observed during peak hours due to the location of railway lines across Uttharananda Mawatha and Akbhar Mawatha at Slave Island area. Accordingly, a project has been proposed to implement a one-way traffic plan by constructing flyovers to avoid the said traffic congestion. As such, the proposal made by the Minister of Highways to implement the said project and invite bids from qualified domestic contractors for the construction of 03 flyovers under the same, was approved by the Cabinet.
