Appointment of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Cost of Living

- The proposal made by H.E the President to appoint the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Cost of Living under the chairmanship of H.E the President and comprising of the Hon. Prime Minister, Minister of Trade, Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Fisheries and Minister of Plantation, in order to maintain the stability of Cost of Living by taking into account the issues such as constant fluctuations in the market demand and supply, climate effects, seasonal changes in production and international prices, was approved by the Cabinet.

Further, the Cabinet granted its approval for the following State Ministers to be attended to the deliberations of the above Cabinet Sub-Committee.

* State Minister of Paddy and Grains, Organic Food, Vegetables, Fruits, Chillies, Onion and Potato Cultivation Promotion, Seed Production and Advanced Technology Agriculture.

* State Minister of Co-operative Services, Marketing Development and Consumer Protection.

* State Minister of Coconut, Kithul, Palmyrah and Rubber Cultivation Promotion and Related Industrial Product Manufacturing & Export Diversification.
