Upgrading the General Hospital, Kalutara and the Base Hospital, Homagama as Teaching Hospitals

- Presently, plans are being made for the establishment of a Medical Faculty of the University of Moratuwa and it is expected to commence the academic activities expeditiously. The proposal submitted by the Minister of Health and Indigenous Medical Services to upgrade the General Hospital, Kalutara and the Base Hospital, Homagama as Teaching Hospitals enabling the establishment of the Professorial Unit of proposed Medical Faculty at General Hospital, Kalutara and the relevant clinical training at the Base Hospital, Homagama, was approved by the Cabinet.
