Appointment of a Committee for the preparation of a strategic mechanism for implementing a Common Watershed Management Approach in Sri Lanka

- The proposal submitted by Hon. Prime Minister for the appointment of a committee comprised of experts in the field of water management headed by Prof. C. M. Madduma Bandara, Environmentalist for the preparation of a proposal on making strategies enabling to build up cooperation among all the relevant stakeholders with the view to increasing the available water quantity with better quality for present and future purposes by reviewing all the relevant policies on effective management of watersheds in Sri Lanka, was approved by the Cabinet.
