Extension of the Project Completion Date of the Moragolla Hydropower Project and Extension of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Loan Closing Date

- The Moragolla Hydropower Project is being implemented under the Phase I of the Green Power Development and Energy Efficiency Improvement Investment Programme implemented by Asian Development Funds and due to delays in the implementation of the project, the loan closing date has been extended up to 2021‑03‑31. However, due to delays in the relevant procurement process, the project completion date and the loan closing date have to be revised further. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Power & Energy to extend the project completion date of the Moragolla Hydropower Project up to 2023‑10‑31 and the loan closing date up to 2024‑07‑31, was approved by the Cabinet.
