Conducting feasibility studies for the establishment of High-Tech Universities targeting job market

- The Asian Development Bank has extended their concurrence to grant assistance to conduct the feasibility studies applicable to establish 10 District High - Tech Universities targeting the expansion of Information Technology, Engineering Technology and Bio Technology opportunities as indicated in the Vistas of Prosperity Development Approach. Accordingly, the Cabinet considered the information submitted by the Minister of Higher Education, Technology and Innovation that necessary actions have been taken by the University Grants Commission for the commencement of the initial feasibility study process in relation to the 10 districts of Nuwara-Eliya, Kalutara, Hambantota, Matale, Puttalam, Mannar, Mullaitivu, Galle, Polonnaruwa and Kegalle.
