Rural Bridges Project - Construction of Rural Bridges - Phase II (618 Bridges) and Phase III (490 Bridges)

- It has been scheduled to construct 537 bridges with the funds from the United Kingdom under Phase II of the Rural Bridges Project, and 463 bridges with the funds from Netherlands under Phase III of the project. However, action has been taken to build another 81and 27 bridges including rural bridges affected by the floods in the year 2017 at the same rates. Accordingly, taking into consideration the contract variations caused by the essential repairs in the flood affected areas, the proposal made by the Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils & Local Government to revise the agreed contract value of Great Britain Pound (GBP) 100 million of Phase II of Rural Bridges Project to GBP 114.19 million and the agreed contract value of Euro 105 million of Phase III of the same to Euro 105.25 million as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
