Aviation insurance renewal and placement for the period 2020/2021 of SriLankan Airlines Limited

- Aviation insurance is a mandatory requirement for airline operations and in the year 2018 with the Cabinet approval, SriLankan Airlines Limited has obtained the insurance coverage from the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation Limited. The insurance cover has to be renewed annually and the Standard Technical Evaluation Committee of the SriLankan Airlines has recommended that the insurance coverage for the year 2020/2021 be obtained from the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation itself. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation to obtain the relevant insurance coverage from Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation for a sum of US$ 4.05 million was approved by the Cabinet.
