Establishment of the Ministry of Mahaweli, Agriculture, Irrigation and Rural Development in the 'Govijana Mandiraya

- Necessary actions have been taken by now to re establish the Ministry of Mahaweli, Agriculture, Irrigation and Rural Development in the 'Govijana Mandiraya' in terms of the approval granted by the Cabinet of Ministers on 2019 12 18. However, the layout of the building should be re arranged to and the electricity supply system should be renovated to establish the Ministry and carry out its functions. Therefore, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal submitted by the Minister of Mahaweli, Agriculture, Irrigation and Rural Development for the direct awarding of the contract for the consultancy services relevant to the said renovation activities to the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau (CECB) and the contract for the construction activities to the Central Engineering Services (Pvt) Limited since the relevant activities should be attended urgently.
