Obtaining Provisions for the payment of salaries to the employees of the Central Cultural Fund

- The Central Cultural Fund has encountered a grave financial crisis by now and it has led to difficulties in bearing the salaries of the employees and other expenditure. Therefore, the request made by the said Fund for obtaining a provision of Rs.135 million monthly under the prevailing circumstances was brought into the notice of the Cabinet by the Hon. Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of Buddhasasana, Cultural and Religious Affairs. Accordingly, the approval of the Cabinet of Ministers was granted to facilitate in obtaining a Short Term Loan grant from a local bank with the intervention of the General Treasury as a remedy to the issues confronted by the aforementioned Fund and to make necessary arrangement for the settlement of the said loan increasing the income of the Central Cultural Fund once tourism is restored in the country in the time to come.
