Extension of Contract between the Ceylon Shipping Corporation (CSC) and M/s United Shippers Limited on Lightering (Barging) for Discharging of Coal from ships to the jetty of the Lakvijaya Coal Power Plant

- The contract agreement between the Ceylon Shipping Corporation and the M/s United Shippers Ltd of India for disembarkation of coal from barges from the ships to Lakwijaya Coal Power Plant has expired from April 2020. Therefore, the joint proposal made by the Minister of Ports and Shipping and the Minister of Power and Energy to extend the said contract agreement for a further period of one year until 2020/2021, was approved by the Cabinet.
