Further increase of the Financing Assistance from the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank Group (WBG) agreed to be made for COVID-19 Emergency Response
- The International Development Association of the World Bank Group has agreed for the use of US$ 60 million of uncommitted funds, of the following projects funded by the International Development Association (IDA) to fund for the programs targeted at COVID-19 affected social segments.

* Transport Connectivity and Asset Management Project

* Ecosystem conservation and management Project

* Climate Smart Irrigated Agriculture Project

Further, The International Development Association (IDA) has agreed to provide US$ 05 million from the Transitional Support Facility of the International Development Association and US$ 1.72 million grant from the Pandemic Emergency Financing Facility. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Economy and Policy Development to obtain the said funds was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on June 3, 2020.

Subsequently, the International Development Association (IDA) has agreed to provide an additional US$ 22.24 million under the Transitional Support Credit Facility. Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Economy and Policy Development to increase the total amount of funds to be obtained up to US$ 87.24 million and to utilize these funds for social security measures targeting the adversely affected segments of the society due to the COVID‑19 outbreak.
