Supporting Electricity Supply Reliability Improvement Project - Package 7: Lot A2 - Installation of the Static Var System (+100 MVar) at Biyagama Grid Substation

- The Asian Development Bank has granted US$ 115 million to the Ceylon Electricity Board, under the Supporting Electricity Supply Reliability Improvement Project for strengthening the transmission and distribution network of the Ceylon Electricity Board and it has been decided to install a Static Var System (+100 MVar) at Biyagama Grid Substation under the said project. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Power & Energy, to award the contract to M/s Hyosung Heavy Industries Corporation, as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
