Payment of Self-Relocation Allowances for the persons who were affected due to acquisition of lands for the Southern Expressway Extension Project

- A self‑relocation allowance of Rs.150,000 each has been paid before the 18th of November 2016, to persons who were displaced within the Pradeshiya Sabha authority limits, due to the acquisition of lands for the Southern Expressway Extension Project. This allowance has been revised as Rs.500,000 after the 18th of November 2016. As such, the proposal made by the Minister of Roads and Highways, to increase the self‑relocation allowance up to Rs.500,000 for the 175 aggrieved land owners whose lands were acquired at the initial stages, was approved by the Cabinet.
