Improvement of the selected National Highway Road Sections which need urgent improvements by utilizing the savings further available under the Local Banks Funded Project (LBFP)

- - The Road Development Authority has implemented a Road Rehabilitation Project from the year 2011 utilizing the funds obtained from the Local Banks on Treasury guarantees. The project, as of now, has been implemented under 02 Phases and it is estimated that a further saving of an amount of Rs.1,580 million will occur from the loan approved for these 02 Phases. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Roads and Highways to utilize the said balance money to develop the alternative roads which need expeditious improvements under 'the implementation of a 100,000 km alternative road network programme' which has been already approved by the Cabinet, was approved by the Cabinet.
