The Kankesanthurai Harbour Development Project

- It has been planned to vest an extent of about 50 acres of land adjacent to the Harbour with the Sri Lanka Ports Authority for the development of the Kankesanthurai Harbour. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Ports & Shipping to transfer a portion of state land in extent of 15 acres adjacent to the Harbour subject to the payment of Rs.52 million and also to acquire another 35 acres of land under private ownership after payment of compensation subject to the provisions of the Land Acquisition Act, was approved by the Cabinet.
