Implementation of the identified projects with the utilization of the remaining funds of the Climate Resilience Improvement Project (CRIP)

- The Climate Resilience Improvement Project initiated under the World Bank funds in the year 2014 is due to be completed by 2020‑06‑30. The total value of the project is US$ 152 million. In terms of the Agreements pertaining to the project, the goals anticipated are in the process of being achieved. It has been found that there is a saving of about Rs.2,500 million from the provisions allocated to the project after the completion of the activities of its identified components. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Mahaweli, Agriculture, Irrigation and Rural Development, to allocate funds out of such saving for the constructions found as essential which were not identified at the time of designing the project and also to utilize the provisions remaining further for designing the preliminary activities identified in the Multi Phased Climate Resilience Programme implemented under the World Bank funds, was approved by the Cabinet.
