Entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Human Capacities of Hungary and the Ministry of Higher Education, Technology and Innovation of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka on an Educational and Scientific Exchange Scholarship Programme
- It has been proposed to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Hungary with a view to expanding overseas higher education opportunities for the students of this country, in accordance with the Development Strategic Programme for the development of a knowledge based economy through the human resources development in line with the Government's National Policy Framework 'Vistas of Prosperity'. Through the proposed Agreement Sri Lankan Students will be entitled to 20 scholarships annually by the Government of Hungary and Sri Lanka will have opportunities for altogether 60 scholarships within the 03 year period of valid duration. Similarly the Government of Sri Lanka will award scholarships to 05 Hungarian students, annually, for academic or research activities.

Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Higher Education, Technology and Innovation, to sign the Memorandum of Understanding relating to the Educational and Scientific Exchange Scholarship Programme, between the Ministry of Human Capacities of Hungary and the the Ministry of Higher Education, Technology and Innovation of Sri Lanka and to implement the Scholarship Exchange Programme by the Ministry of Higher Education, Technology and Innovation as per the MoU, was approved by the Cabinet.
