Death of three Sri Lankan Students in Azerbaijan

- The Cabinet has been informed by the Minister of Foreign Relations that necessary action is being coordinated by the Sri Lanka Missions in Tehran with the Western Caspian University in Azerbaijan and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Tehran, to bring the human remains of the female students who had lost their lives as a result of a blaze in an apartment in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, to Sri Lanka treating it as a matter of urgency. Further, the concurrence of the Cabinet was given for the proposal made by the Minister of Foreign Relations, to bare the approximate cost of Rs.1.5 million by the Government of Sri Lanka, to bring those bodies to the country, treating this as a special circumstance on humanitarian grounds.
