Emergency Procurement of Liquefied Petroleum Gas
- A Gas shortage has been experienced in the domestic market due to the consequences of the attack that took place in September 2019 at oil processing facilities of Saudi Arabia and the surging demand for Liquefied Petroleum Gas following their price reduction in Sri Lanka. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Finance to purchase 12,000 metric tons of Liquefied Petroleum Gas as an emergency procurement, so as to cover the market requirement for the months of November and December 2019, was approved by the Cabinet.
