Purchase of White Nadu and Samba Rice from the Local Market to Lanka Sathosa Limited

- he proposal made by the Minister of Industry & Commerce, Resettlement of Protracted Displaced Persons, Co‑operative Development and Vocational Training & Skills Development to mill, at least 20,000Mt of paddy (10,000Mt of Nadu and 10,000Mt of Samba) available with the Paddy Marketing Board, through the registered millers of Lanka Sathosa Limited or through the Sri Lanka Co-operative Marketing Federation Limited (MARKFED) and to supply to the market through the Lanka Sathosa Limited, taking into account of the necessity of having sufficient quantities of rice in the open market to control the increasing trend in the price of rice, was approved by the Cabinet.
