Establishment of the National Trust Fund the 'Protection of Children'

- In accordance with a decision made by the Cabinet, the National Trust Fund, the 'Protection of Children' has been created on the 01st of October, 2019 with a view to providing the proper guidance, protection and the necessary resources to the children who have become destitute due to various reasons. A contribution of Rs.17 million has been made by the philanthropists in this regard, on this day which fell on the World Children's Day. Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E. the President to take action to enhance this fund by extending a request to all members of the Cabinet of Ministers, all Members of Parliament and the Parliamentary staff, all officers in the Public Service and Public Corporations to make a voluntary contribution of their one day's salary as a donation to the fund, was approved by the Cabinet.
