Minimizing youth unemployment by giving publicity through 'Smart Sri Lanka' on details of employment and training opportunities in the public sector

- The main objectives of the institute of 'Smart Sri Lanka' are to coordinate and monitor career guidance activities at national level, impart training to relevant officers regularly, create and develop the software posting details of job courses, professional and business information by adopting new state of the art technology. Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E the President, to publish the details of the vacancies available in all Government Ministries and the institutions under their purview,in the software called 'Smart Sri Lanka' , including those published in the Government Gazette, recruitment notices, information pertaining to special loan schemes and technical assistance granted by all Government Ministries and institutions coming under their purview, state banks and financial institutions for entrepreneurs, business enterprises as well, as for self employment purposes and information pertaining to local and foreign entrepreneurship opportunities and vocational and training opportunities provided by the Government Ministries and institutions under their purview and to authorize the Institute of 'Smart Sri Lanka' to liaise with the career guidance units with regard to the registration of graduates who pass out through the Government Universities and trainees who pass out from professional and vocational training institutions, was approved by the Cabinet.
