Conversion of the Sri Lanka Railways Service into a Closed Department and introduction of a specific and unique salary structure

- Approval of the Cabinet has been granted previously to convert the Railways Service into a Closed Service and to take the necessary measures in the future to formulate a suitable salary structure. Accordingly, approval was granted by the Cabinet to appoint a Committee under the Chairmanship of a senior official in the Ministry of Public Administration, Disaster Management and Livestock Development, to study and make recommendations pertaining to the practical problems which may arise when implementing the proposals made by the Acting Minister of Transport & Civil Aviation in this regard and the measures to be taken to minimize same.
