Termination of the Wildlife Trust

- The Wildlife Trust of Sri Lanka established in terms of the provisions of the Trust Ordinance, presently, not engaged in any activity related to the objective of environment conservation and wildlife conservation, has been identified to be terminated in accordance with the Public Finance Circular No.2/2018. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Tourism Development, Wildlife and Christian Religious Affairs, to assign all the assets and liabilities of the Wildlife Trust to the Department of Wildlife Conservation after the winding up of the said Trust, to grant compensation and gratuity for the staff who have expressed their willingness to be relieved of their services, to attach the members of the staff who do not express their willingness to be relieved of their services having received their compensation, to the Department of Wildlife Conservation, as personal to them and to continue to maintain the Randenigala Training Centre further as a Training Centre under the Department of Wildlife Conservation, was approved by the Cabinet.
