Construction of the Gelioya Town Bus Stand and the Economic Centre

- The proposal made by the Minister of National Policies, Economic Affairs, Resettlement & Rehabilitation, Northern Province Development and Youth Affairs, to construct a 3 storey building for the Gelioya Main Bus Stand and the Economic Centre equipped with the necessary facilities allowing to accommodate the development activities of the town as well, at a total cost of Rs.233.23 million, considering the non‑availability of sufficient parking facilities for the buses, lack of necessary facilities for the convenience of the passengers, bus drivers and conductors and the congestion aggravated in the town created by the road side vendors in the said bus stand of Gelioya situated along the Nuwara Eliya‑ Colombo main road, was approved by the Cabinet.
