Conducting of the Pilot Study on feasibility of implementing the New Labour Force Standards adopted during the 19th International Conference of Labour Statisticians (ICLS) in Sri Lanka

- At the 19th International Conference of Labour Statisticians, a series of amendments have been adopted for the preparation of official labour force statistics and the said standards have also been approved by the Governing Body of the International Labour Organization, as the international labour statistics standards. Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E. the President at the request of the Non‑Cabinet Minister of Economic Reforms and Public Distribution, to obtain approval to conduct a pilot study on the feasibility of implementation of new labour statistics standards by the Department of Census and Statistics with the technical assistance from the International Labour Organization and the World Bank, making use of the grant of US$ 212,000.00 provided by the World Bank, was approved by the Cabinet.
