The National Hindu Council of Sri Lanka

- The proposal made by the Minister of National Integration, Official Languages, Social Progress and Hindu Religious Affairs to establish a Council by the name of 'The National Hindu Council of Sri Lanka' in a manner representing all the Hindu community groups living in Sri Lanka, with the expectation of fulfilling the objectives of strengthening the process of the Government for creating National Integration and co-existence, protecting the Hindu religious beliefs, Hindu culture and Hindu heritage at the National Level and the District Level, acting peacefully with other communities living in Sri Lanka in order to build a strong Sri Lanka, was approved by the Cabinet.
