Development of Rural Agri Business Value Chains and Improvement of Related Common Facilities - Smallholder Agribusiness Partnership Programme (SAPP)
- The Smallholder Agribusiness Partnership Programme is jointly implemented to facilitate smallholder farmers through agriculture value chain partnerships created by Public, Private and Production Participation (4P) by the Government of Sri Lanka, International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD), Private Sector, Participatory Financial Institutes (PFIs) and the beneficiaries through an investment of US$ 105 million. Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E. the President to authorize the Smallholder Agribusiness Partnerships Programme (SSAP) to provide in kind or financial grants to Farmers'/Producers' Organizations who are engaged in the said 4P projects, not exceeding the value of Rs.5 million per value chain project, for development of ‘off farm’ and common facilities/services which has been identified as essential to ensure the smooth operation of Public Private Producer Partnership (4P) projects, accordingly to improve the income level of farmers and minimize their risk in market, and to be implemented in collaboration with the Ministry in charge of the subject of Agriculture and the other relevant ministries was approved by the Cabinet.
