Vesting ownership of 101 'Shelter for All' new model villages with the housing beneficiaries

- One of the key development initiatives of the 'Shelter for All' national housing drive which commenced from the year 2015 is the model village programme. Under the said programme, the number of model villages vested with the housing beneficiaries with all the required amenities of a settlement is 286 and the submission made by the Minister of Housing, Construction and Cultural Affairs that the ownership of 101 model villages out of the said number will be vested with the beneficiaries awaiting the ownership of a house of their own, during the two week period from 23rd September to 07th October, preceding the World Habitat Day which falls on 07th October, was noted by the Cabinet.
